Tips for Exercising When Pregnant

First and foremost consult with your GP to make sure you are okay to exercise when pregnant.

  • Stay well hydrated when exercising.
  • Avoid high impact activities or exercises that may cause a fall for example snowboarding.
  • Eat well and consult with a nutritionist or dietician for dietary advice and take any relevant supplements.
  • Wear proper equipment and footwear when exercising.
  • Try some antenatal Pilates or Yoga to help your body to stretch as your body adjusts to pregnancy.
  • It is safe and advisable to exercise when pregnant.
  • Incorporate some pelvic floor exercises into your daily routine always remember to practice some deep breathing when working on your pelvic floor muscles and practice relaxing them as well as contracting them.
